PRIMARY SOURCE OF INCOME
Farming is the primary source of livelihood among the residents of the community. The agricultural lands are use dominantly for multi-cropping which mainly includes vegetables such as squash, eggplant, and lady fingers or “okra”. There are also corn, rice, coconut, banana and other fruit trees.The Agricultural land use is 30 hectares.
Farmers utilize quality seeds packages bought from nearby barangays such as Malinao and some from Dipolog .Corn production and vegetables utilizes different varieties of seeds with plant fertilizers.
For the laborers, the farmers in charge of the land usually hire additional labor force for irrigation, plowing and sowing of the crops. For their compensation, 120-130 per person per day is alloted with a free meal and water and 250 pesos for plowing the field with the use of their carabaos.
The farming population relies on good harvests to sustain their families. The common challenges experienced by the farmers are the unfavorable weather conditions.
