Follow The Rules

Republic Act 9003 also known as Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000. This is the law created to provide the legal framework for the systematic, comprehensive and ecological solid waste management program of the Philippines, which shall ensure protection of public health and the environment. The law does not exempt no one. So the task of the Poblacion Bajo team is for people to get to know this law and also to initiate the implementation of this law. Why do we have laws anyways? Laws are created to govern behavior and institute peace and order. In turn creating harmony among people. However, the law does not only work to protect the people but also to protect the environment. The environment where we live and where we get our everyday needs. The team started to create awareness through health education. The team discussed with the community people the difference of 'malata' and 'di malata' wastes. Then presented what the republic act 9003 requires of the people. The team also joined few clean up drives done in the barangay.

We also went to schools for the mini lecture about the RA 9003 and discussed what they can do as students or as young as they are to help lessen the burden of wastes produced by each individual. The team believes that even the small act of throwing the trash to the proper bin creates a big difference. And it is in small actions that great things come.
