Team Bajo Presyon

For those community exposure in regards to the hypertension community health plan, we have reevaluated our team BP for their knowledge on hypertension. Also we have coordinated with the RHU of Sergio Osmeña in regards to the maintenance medications of the hypertensive individuals in line with this we have an algorithm in the referral of hypertensive cases according tot he staging of JNC 8. Together with the team BP we re-assessed those who were previously noted to have hypertension and if they were taking maintenance medications. We have several experiences with the perspective of the community members on how maintenance medications work. Some were afraid of the side effects and some were just used to their traditional way of treating the illness. With this in mind, as medical students we would try in our next exposure to impart and tackle the concerns of the hypertensive individuals in relation to their pre perceived notions on taking maintenance medications.
